Kyuhyun went to Tokyo on August 31st, 2009.
Title: 09. Tokyo Journey – Day 1
Written on 2010.02.24 at 04:36 AM When I came back from Hong Kong in 2009, I made up my mind
and since I could suddenly afford it I went backpacking in Japan by myself for 5 days and 4 nights
Since the beginning something worked out well, I was buying a ticket for an Economy seat
but since there were no Economy seats available, advancement to Business* ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
There, on the way to the airport, Japan citizens from a big height
and thanks to a handsome friend’s call, suddenly even the worry of finding a place to sleep was solved!*
The depart for Japan began without any plan but in a nice way~^^
* This entry doesn’t flow like the others, it’s lacking in verbs;
it’s more of a point-by-point outline on how it all began, it’s meant to introduce the following ones.
I added a few verbs in order to make the sentences flow, they are in light gray because I’m an anal translator.

The guide for a journey to Tokyo with no definite object in view is none other than…..
‘Wingbus’*
To ignorant me who went without thinking
it is a really impressive site that gave me a whole lot of help ㅠㅠ
With the help of that Wingbus site
I randomly went to find MaiSen (まい泉)**,
located in ‘Omotesando’ in the nearby ‘Omotesando Hills’***,
in order to eat tonkatsu****, one of the things I wanted to eat when going to Japan..
The problem is that there was something wrong in what I noted down to find my way to MaiSen
therefore I only just found it at the end of a full hour of wandering about, so I took a touching picture ㅠㅠ
Then once inside, I ordered a sensational black pig fillet for dinner,
so I ate and finished it in victory..ㅎㅎ
Mmh…of course it was rather expensive (2940yen*****…허거******….)
but even so with the thought of not knowing whether I could go again..
The taste was the greatest anyway ^^
* Wingbus is a website that collects stories and pictures posted up by bloggers about their tour(s). This helps future travellers get information about restaurants, sightseeing places, etc. This is the section Kyuhyun visited, and this? is the information on the place he went to eat at.
** MaiSen is a famous pork cutlet restaurant chain.
*** Omotesando Hills
**** Tonkatsu is a pork cutlet.
***** For the record, the first comment in the reviews page of this particular restaurant said “expensive”, lmao. He spent 32.60 USD on a pork fillet.
****** I’m thinking it’s a sort of exclamation like our “wth”, or “oh my”.

Title: 09. Tokyo Journey – Day 2 // Folder: # 09. ToKyo 旅行
Written on 2010.02.24 at 05:13 AM I enjoyed eating a tonkatsu* and went to see that legend of Shibuya~
There are truly many people….. there are also many marvelous things
And it’s fascinating how there’s also the hand coming out of the eye-shape in ’21st Century Boys’** ㅎㅎ
Anyway I’ve been practicing Japanese………
‘すみませんが,寫眞を とって くださいませんか?’***
‘스미마셍 가, 샤싱오 톳 테 구다사이마셍 카?’****
‘Excuse me, would you mind taking a picture?’*****
* Tonkatsu is a pork cutlet
** He’s referring to the last picture, the eye; it’s from a manga created by Naoki Urasawa.
*** Japanese
**** Hangeul romanization of the Japanese line

Written on 2010.02.24 at 05:44 AM
I enthusiastically went around Shibuya* and,
beginning the search ahead of dinner time,
I went to find Midori (美登利), another of Tokyo’s famous restaurants for sushi
Was it Shibuya ‘Mark City’**? Apparently I remember it being on the 4th floor of that building..
As expected, with the Restaurant being a famous place, I’d be queuing a lot……
By then ‘Mister Sushi King’ was being eagerly watched by me
It was a moment full of so much tension…hoohoo
I think the correct name of the chef who came out at Mister Sushi King was ‘God’s Number 1 Working Fingertips’
but I can’t recall it so I’m a little sad..ㅎㅎ
The taste was the greatest anyway ^^

Title: 09. Tokyo Journey – Day 2
Written on 2010.02.24 at 05:57 AM I ate delicious dinner in Shibuya~
Then leaving for Harajuku!!*
However it was only about 8?
But the shops started slowly closing the doors..
It seems that shops in Japan close the doors soon..
It was a bit disappointing, nevertheless I wandered everywhere, from one place to another
Discovered one shop with figures!!
As expected since Japan is about animation,
2 out of the 7 figures of the Dragon Ball souvenir set were screaming**…………
Mmh……………
They’re good………..aren’t they…….?ㅎㅎ
* Harajuku
** If you look at the last picture, you’ll see two figures have a “bubble” with words in it. They’re screaming.

Since it was getting darker in Harajuku1 with the shops closing the doors soon,
I left to look for ‘Tokyo City Hall’2~~
However there was trouble finding it………
I clearly had to go somewhere around the Shinjuku station3…mmh….
Since Japan has overly expensive cab fares I couldn’t bring myself to take a cab,
so I had to walk in order to find everything ㅎㅎ
I walked blindly although I should’ve asked!
While doing so I found out I wrongly was on the way to
‘Kabukicho (歌舞伎町)’4!!!
‘Since you’ve seen the rice cake, you should spend time on ancestral rites’5!!! ㅎㅎ and since I was there I took a look here and there
I continued walking this and that way,
so what when a tout6 asked me with an inarticulated command of Korean if I’d like to “have a drink maybe?”
I said “이이에 (いいえ no)”7 once and when I was going to turn around
I asked ‘도쿄 도쪼와 도꼬데스까~?’8
He totaaaa~~ aaally pointed towards the opposite way
so once again I began the strenuous walk…………ㅠ

Written on 2010.02.24 at 06:19 AM
I guess I walked for about.. 20~30 minutes..
then I started seeing the image of Tokyo City Hall from afar!!
My mind was overwhelmed in finally seeing itㅋㅋ
And fortunately late entrance is admitted..
when I thought that was something I’d have to pay admission for (free of charge!!)
I went up, and Tokyo’s whole nightscape unfolded before me from all 4 directions..
Since I suffered for an hour, I felt completely rewarded~
I took pictures here and there, and I wandered around
Then, looking down at the city nightscape, two female Korean tourists next to me said
Girl1 ‘Hey~ is he SuJu’s Kyuhyun? He looks like him’
Girl2 ‘Oh. Yeah? ㅋㅋ That’s surprising’
It was a conversation of that sort.. since I was right next to them
I felt a bit embarrassed, so, pretending I couldn’t have heard well I continued to take pictures and when I was going to go to another place
I said ‘Nice to meet you~’ and greeted them in Korean, turning around
they looked so surprised ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ and repeatedly said ‘I’m sorry ㅠ ‘…*
Somehow seeing Korean people in a foreign country felt good~
So as I got out, I tiredly went back to my lodging on foot.. hoohoo
* I’ll be honest and say I am bit unsure as to who said what in this part, but after a lot of thinking and reasoning with Ali and Jessica, I decided to go for this.
